Mr Lim Kia Tong who heads the criminal department, has been a litigation lawyer all his uninterrupted 30 years of active practice. Although he conducts both civil and criminal litigation cases, the bulk of his legal practice is devoted to criminal cases both at the Subordinate Courts and the Supreme Courts level.


The criminal cases that he conducts are wide ranging. They include but are not limited to offences under the Penal Code like murder, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rape, molest, robbery, criminal breach of trust, offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act, Betting Act, Road Traffic Act, Moneylenders Act, the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Immigration Act and The Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act.


Over the years he has conducted hundreds of criminal cases; some of which were high profile corruption cases. Besides the many cases he has conducted at the Subordinate Courts, he has also conducted many High Court capital murder and drug cases and quite a good number of Magistrate Appeal and Court of Criminal Appeal cases both on a briefed and assigned basis.
